Zip Security Joins CrowdStrike’s Project QuiltWorks to Secure SMBs Against Frontier AI Risk

Zip brings its managed security platform to the coalition, extending frontier AI risk protection to businesses with lean or no security teams

NEW YORK, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Zip Security today announced it has joined Project QuiltWorks, the coalition led by CrowdStrike to secure organizations against frontier AI risk. Frontier AI has changed the economics of cyber risk. Small and mid-sized businesses now face sophisticated threats without the resources enterprises use to counter them.

Zip Security Joins CrowdStrike’s Project QuiltWorks to Secure SMBs Against Frontier AI Risk

Zip joins the coalition as the partner focused on exactly these businesses: companies with no CISO, no security team, and no budget to hire security staff. Zip makes that protection operational and accessible. The platform defines the security framework each business needs, deploys the tools, policies, and controls correctly, manages protection 24/7 with experts on call, and produces compliance evidence on demand — comprehensive and automated, operable by any team with no security background required. Zip has also built a network of vCISOs who use the platform to deploy the security programs they prescribe, keep controls enforced, and prove compliance across their client bases.

Project QuiltWorks unites CrowdStrike’s AI-driven vulnerability discovery and adversary-informed prioritization with remediation services from systems integrators, hardened cloud infrastructure from Amazon Web Services (AWS), financial protection from cyber insurers, and channel partners, including MSPs and MSSPs, that extend these capabilities to organizations of every size. Frontier models from OpenAI and Anthropic power the initiative’s discovery capabilities.

For enterprises, CrowdStrike has been the core of protection for years; the world’s largest enterprises measure their security against that standard. Many SMBs, however, have lacked the resources and expertise to access and operationalize an enterprise-grade program at this scale. In August 2026, CrowdStrike expanded Project QuiltWorks to SMBs worldwide, naming Zip Security among the partners bringing it down market.

“The cost of attacking a business collapsed. The cost of defending one didn’t,” said Joshua Zweig, CEO and co-founder of Zip Security. “Zip closes that gap: security defined, deployed, and managed for businesses with lean or no security teams. Joining Project QuiltWorks extends that protection to frontier AI risk — same standard, no added complexity, no added headcount.”

“Frontier AI is changing the economics of cyber risk, and every organization needs access to the same standard of protection,” said Daniel Bernard, chief business officer at CrowdStrike. “By bringing Project QuiltWorks to SMBs through partners like Zip Security, we’re extending frontier AI risk protection to more organizations through the partners they already trust.”

For Zip customers, the coalition’s work arrives inside the security program Zip already manages. Frontier models discover vulnerabilities, while CrowdStrike’s adversary-informed prioritization helps identify those that pose the greatest real-world risk. The platform Zip runs keeps protection deployed, configured, and enforced — helping customers act on vulnerabilities based on risk and priority. Customers see the results, not the workload.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Project QuiltWorks? Project QuiltWorks is a CrowdStrike-led industry coalition that unites frontier AI leaders, global systems integrators, distributors, MSPs, MSSPs, channel partners, and the Falcon platform to help organizations of every size close the exploit gap created by frontier AI.

What is frontier AI risk? Frontier AI risk is the exposure created by the most advanced AI models, which can discover software vulnerabilities that earlier tools and reviews did not find.
